The sea change in thinking has arrived. With a consensus from a bike shop owner, my wife and my dad, I am now looking at hybrid bikes vs. road bikes for my new bike.
They will be sturdier for my (current) weight, allow me to train heartily and compete OK. And the price point is a lot lower for decent entry-level options.
Maybe a set of clip-on aero bars can help me get over my dislike for the straight bars.
